PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To eliminate a gap between both circulators and to reduce the thickness, weight and size of every circulator by holding a ground conductor plate between two microwave integrated circuit(MIC) and bonding them together in a multilayer substrate structure. SOLUTION: The MIC 4a and 4b containing magnets 5a and 5b are placed on both sides of a ground conductor plate 3. Both MIC 4a and 4b also include the ferrite substrates 2a and 2b on the surface of the plate 3 and the microwave circuits 1a and 1b consisting of the strip lines formed on the surfaces of both substrates 2a and 2b. The magnets 5a and 5b provided on the upper sides of both circuits 1a and 1b serving as circulators function to magnetize the substrates 2a and 2b. Therefore, the MIC 4a and 4b function as circulators to output the microwave signals which are made incident from the terminals 1 and 4 to the terminals 3 and 6 via the terminals 2 and 5 and also to output the microwave signals made incident on the terminals 3 and 5 to the terminals 1 and 4 respectively. In such a constitution, no gap is caused between both circulators and therefore the thickness, weight and size can be reduced for every circulator. |
