PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent stress from being given to a display element and to fix a light shielding plate on a base plate without backlash by extending a 1st projection abutting on the back surface of a housing in a vertical direction to the light shielding means. SOLUTION: The liquid crystal display element 11 displays picture information and the fitting part 13a of a lead 13 is connected to a peripheral terminal part 11a. A backlight 14 being a light emitting diode illuminates the back surface of the element 11, and the light shielding plate 15 made of translucent resin shields the light so that the light from the backlight 14 may not be leaked to a part other than the element 11. The upper surface 15b of the plate 15 on the element 11 side is provided with the function of a thin diffusing plate and the peripheral part 15c is formed to be thick so as to enhance light shielding ability in a state where it surrounds the backlight 14. The vertical projection 15a (1st projection) holding the plate 15 and the housing 12 at a specified interval at the time of assembly is formed in the vertical direction at the upper part of the side surface of the plate 15. In a process to fix the housing, the projection 15a is pressed by the housing 12 and the base plate 16, so that the plate 15 is fixed also in the vertical direction. |
