<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To manufacture a sealed lead-acid battery at high efficiency while facilitating operations before and after a chemical conversion treatment. SOLUTION: Exhaust cylinders 7, 7,... fitted with a plurality of safety valves 8 are arranged on the bottom wall 5a of a recessed space 6 formed in a battery lid 5 put over the upper surface of a battery jar 1, and a pair of upright plates 14 are projected from both sides of each exhaust cylinder 7 by integral molding in such a way that they project from the surface of the bottom wall 5a, with a cover plate 15 freely removably bridged between the pair of upright plates 14. A sealed lead-acid battery that has not yet undergone a chemical conversion treatment is prepared in which the tops of the exhaust cylinders 7 fitted with the safety valves 8 are covered with the cover plate 15, and a main lid plate is put over the open upper side of the recessed space 6 after the battery is subjected to a chemical conversion treatment.</p> |
