PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the amount of off-track of a magnetic tape in the tape cartridge used for an external recording medium, etc., of a computer. SOLUTION: The tape cartridge is constituted in such a manner that tape guides 14... for the tape unwinding side and tape guides 17... for the take-up side are arranged across ports 4, 5 for a magnetic head respectively at the unwinding side and take-up side of the magnetic tape 11, then the magnetic tape 11 is put over these tape guides and the magnetic tape unwound from a supply hub 12 is taken up by a take-up hub 13. These tape guides at the unwinding side and the take-up side are respectively arranged in plural pieces for each, and also tape traveling surfaces of the tape guides are formed as <ϕ4.75mm.
