<p>Said mechanism is applicable to terminals (1) of control cables of the push-pull type which configure an articulation body (6) adapted to receive and retain a hinge extension (12) of a control actuator, being arranged orthogonally with respect to each other and with rotation capacity. The hinge body (6) is a single piece and has a housing (11) with two inlet openings (A1, B1) which are similar and situated at each side of selectable alternating use. In the housing (11) there are provided retention means comprised of axial grooves (17) from the bottom (19) of which extend respective retention wings (18); the retention wings can rotate in both directions and are adapted so that the coupling force (F) is smaller in intensity than the decoupling force (F').
