PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide wood blocks which improves the quality of beverage or food product by the action of far infrared rays and the process therefor. SOLUTION: A composite ceramic prepared by mixing alumina with magnesia with particle sizes of <=5μm or of a mixture comprising titania and silica or comprising alumina with silica and/or a mixture of alumina, titania, silica and magnesia is formulated together with water and a dispersing agent and they are stirred to form a slurry. Then, the slurry is introduced into a vacuum processing machine in which a wood block is set, the vacuum processing machine is evacuated whereby the pores on the surface layer of a timber are filled with the composite ceramic under reduced pressure. |
