PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent a device that controls load according to detection signals of a human body detecting device from making operating errors as the result of changes in the amount of heat during the load control. SOLUTION: This device comprises a detecting device for detecting changes in the amount of heat coming from a human body or the like and incident on a sensor, a load output control device for controlling the output of load, and a CPU for adjusting the amount of output to load according to detection signals from the detecting device. When controlling load, the CPU adjusts the amount of change of output per unit time so that it is not more than the amount of change caused when a human body is detected as a heat source. For example, the load output is varied over a time longer than the time calculated on the basis of the inverse of the center frequency of the gain of an amplifier in the detecting device.
