CALCIUM SILICATE BOARD AND ITS PRODUCTION

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve strength and interlaminar strength by subjecting a formed body contg. a calcareous raw material, a siliceous raw material, a fibrous raw material, an inorganic filler and specific alum to primary curing, and then subjecting the body to hydrothermal reaction. SOLUTION: In this production, a raw material body 7 contg. a 17 to 50wt.% calcareous raw material, a 15 to 45wt.% siliceous raw material, a 2 to 8wt.% fibrous raw material and a 5 to 40wt.% inorganic filler is subjected to papermaking with cylinders 8 each placed in one of papermaking boxes 6 of a cylinder paper machine to form a paperlike material and the paperlike material is transferred onto a felt 3 to form a paperlike film 4. This paperlike film 4 is introduced through a return roll 2 to a position below a sprinkler 5 and sprinkled with alunite or alum having a >=4,000cm<2> /g Blaine specific surface area or aluminum sulfate having a >=2,000cm<2> /g Blaine specific surface area, in a 3 to 15g/m<2> amount per unit area of the film 4 and thereafter, the resulting film 4 is wound up around a making roll 1 to obtain a formed sheet. This formed sheet is subjected to primary curing under conditions sufficient to meet the formula (curing temp.-15)×(curing time) >=120 deg.C.hr and thereafter, to hydrothermal reaction to obtain the objective calcium silicate board.
