摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical communication system which can suppress its cost increase and also can prevent deterioration of the signal transmission speed by performing communication among plural devices including the transmission parts which transmit optical signals of different wavelengths and the reception parts which receive the optical signals of prescribed wavelengths among those optical signals of different wavelengths. SOLUTION: The communication is performed between a personal computer A1 and a peripheral device B4 via a transmission part 11 of the computer A1 and a reception part 42 of the device B4 respectively. The computer A1 selects a light emitting element which emits the light of such wavelength that can be received at the part 42 among plural light emitting elements contained in the part 11 and actuates the selected light emitting element to transmit an optical signal 11a to the device B4. The device B4 receives the signal 11a at the part 42 and selects a light emitting element which emits the light of such wavelength that can be received at a reception part 12 of the computer A1 among plural light emitting elements contained in a transmission part 41. Then the device B4 actuates the selected light emitting element to transmit an optical signal 41a to the computer A1.
