PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a full-color liquid crystal display device using improved axial holograph color filters. SOLUTION: This device includes a collimated white light source 21, a transparent substrate 23, the offaxial holograph color filters 20 including red, green and blue hologram layers for diffracting respective light rays of red, green and blue, holograph red/green/blue filters 30 arranged on the input surface of the substrate 23 including offaxial volume transmittable gratings 31 installed on the input surface of the offaxial holograph color filters 20 and a liquid crystal display layer 22 arranged on the output surface of the substrate 23. The transmittable gratings 31 receive the axial light entering from the white light source 21 and diffract the light to an offaxial angle. This light is diffracted again by the three layers of the holograph lenslet of the holograph color filters 30 and is returned onto the axis. |
