PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To absorb collision energy which works upon an occupant's body at the time of vehicle collision effectively according to vehicle characteristics. SOLUTION: This seat belt retractor 100, which is fitted on a retractor base 1 so that it may rotate freely, is provided with a torsion bar 2 with a locking plate 5 provided at one end, an emergency locking means 300 which inhibits the locking plate 5 from rotating in the waving drawing-out direction at the time of vehicle emergency, a bobbin 3 around which waving is wound and is fitted at the other end of the torsion bar 2 so that it may rotate integrally, and a lock piece 15 which is disposed at a guide part 13 which is formed in a section facing the locking plate 5 and the bobbin 3. When the locking plate 5 and the bobbin 3 rotate relatively, the lock piece 15 conducts relative movement while deforming the narrow part of a guide groove 12 which constitutes the guide part 13. |
