PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a low-priced clow pole type synchronous motor which can be used as the spindle motor of a storage device. SOLUTION: At the end surface on the opposite side to a base 1 of an armature 13 former inside a motor, a shield plate 24 for magnetic leakage prevention and noise suppression from the inside of the motor is fitted so as to cover an end surface where the armature 13 and the magnetic field magnet 17 of a rotor 14 meet each other. To prevent the rotor 14 from getting out of a stator assembly 27, the inside diameter of the shield plate 24 is set so as to be smaller than the outside diameter of the rotor 14.
