发明名称 CELL TRANSFER DEVICE
摘要
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cell transfer device in which congestion is evaded while holding the transfer order of cells. SOLUTION: When the number of storing cells in an output buffer 21 exceeds a threshold level, a prescribed number of cells are transferred through a bypass line. A control cell indicating the number of bypass cells is inserted into the place of the missing bypass cells in a main line. The number of the bypass cells is recognized based on the control cell at a reception side. When the cells are stored in an input buffer 26, a null area for the portion of the bypass cells is provided after the storing area of the cell immediately before the control cell and the cell received from the main line, which is successively received after the control cell is stored in the area after the null area. The cell from the bypass line is stored in the null area. Consequently, the order of the cells are correctly arrayed at the reception side. Since they are arrayed in correct order at the reception side even if the cells are branched to plural routes, the congestion is evaded even at the time of excess capacitance in terms of a burst.
