The engine(16) is fed with fuel by a fuel feed pipe(15) which is regulated at constant pressure by a regulator(14) and supplied from a constant flow electric fuel pump(12). The engine is also supplied with air at a measured or evaluated admission pressure. The method has the following stages: - verify that the admission variation pressure ( PI a) exceeds a step value so as to establish that the engine is in a transitory regime; - measure the intensity(I) of the control current of the pump(12) when the engine is in the transitory regime and; - deduce the value of the pressure(P) of the fuel in the injection ramp(16). The fuel regulator(14) is placed in proximity to a fuel reservoir(11) of the pump(12). To determine the fuel pressure(P) as a function of current(I) the following method is used: - read from a cartograph giving for each current value(I) a given flow(Q) for the pump(12), the value of the fuel pressure(P) in the injection ramp(16) |
