The joint covering has a first support strip (A) formed as sections (A1) which are rectilinear and centreable. The sections have integral outwardly extending return corners. The sections are of U-shaped cross section of which the flanges (3a,b) extend away from the wall. Each flange has a return (4a,b) bent inwardly and defining longitudinal slides (5a,b). A decorative strip insert (13) can be fitted between the flanges. The strip can be formed of aluminium alloy which may be painted.
