<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To properly provide a decoded dynamic image from a designated frame, to eliminate useless image decoding and to reduce decoding processing by monitoring the frame number of read compressed image data and starting the output of the decoded image when that frame number is coincident with a frame number at a designated read starting position. SOLUTION: When a title and a starting frame are respectively designated to input terminals T01 and T02, a storage device read interface 101 selects the compressed image data to be read out and a frame period P, to which intra-frame predictive encoding is performed, is read by an encoding period reader circuit 102. Reading is started from the read starting frame, which is calculated from the frame period P and a reproduction starting frame number by a read starting frame calculation circuit 103, and the read frame is supplied to a decoder circuit 104. At such a time, when the number of the image frame under decoding is coincident with the designated frame number, a frame number monitor circuit 105 sends an output starting signal to an AND gate 106, the gate is opened and outputting is started.</p> |
