ELECTRON EMITTING ELEMENT, FOCUSING ELECTRODE FOR ELECTRON EMITTING ELEMENT, AND ITS MANUFACTURE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the electron focusing property to an anode electrode by forming an electron focusing electrode on a metal plate provided between the cathode substrate and anode substrate of an electron emitting element. SOLUTION: An aperture 52 having the same shape as that of a focusing electrode pattern formed on one face of a metal plate 51 is formed to obtain a focusing electrode plate. An anode side electrode plate formed with a transparent electrode 54 and a phosphor layer 55 on a glass substrate 53 and the focusing electrode plate are integrally sealed via a glass paste 56 so that the phosphor layer 55 and the focusing electrode plate are made parallel planes. A paint film having the function to emit electrons by excitation is formed and baked on a picture element electrode pattern 62 formed on a quartz glass substrate 61 to obtain a cathode side electrode plate formed with a paint film 65 containing fine grains on an electron emitting film face. The anode side electrode plate, focusing electrode plate, and cathode side electrode plate are integrated by the glass paste 56.
