PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent deposition of dust on a magnetic head and to obtain a magnetic recording medium having excellent durability and reliability by using a compd. having a specified structural formula as a lubricant to be included Ln a lubricating layer. SOLUTION: After a base layer, a magnetic layer and a protective layer are formed by sputtering on a nonmagnetic substrate, a lubricating layer containing a fluorine-based lubricant expressed by formula is applied. In formula, R is an alkyl group or carboxyl group which may have substituents or -COOR', wherein R' is an alkyl group which may have substituents, and (n) is 5 to 40. |
