PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an illuminating device wherein its secondary battery can be charged independently of the boosting operation of its boosting circuit in a service uninterruption of a commercial power supply and its illumination load is lit by a power feed from its secondary battery in a service interruption of the commercial power supply. SOLUTION: To a bidirectional converter circuit 10, both a transistor Q8 of a changeover element of the changeover of circuit modes and an inductor L3 are given additionally. In the service uninterruption of a commercial power supply 1, when a boosting chopper circuit 4a acting as a boosting circuit performs a boosting operation, turning off the transistor Q8 , the mode of the bidirectional converter circuit 10 is changed over to a half-bridge mode and when the boosting chopper circuit 10 stops the boosting operation, turning on the transistor Q8 , the circuit mode of the bidirectional converter circuit 10 is changed over to the mode serving as both a chopper and a half-bridge converter to charge a secondary battery 2 in each case of the presence and absence of the boosting operation. |
