PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an original reader providing the improved precision of reading positions at the front/rear tips of an original in spite of a simple hardware and multiple line control suited to fast reading (long interval of soft intervention). SOLUTION: An original reader reading an original by feeding the original one by one is provided with an original feeding means 11 for feeding the original and an original arrival detecting means 12 for detecting that the original fed by the feeding means 11 arrives at a position before the position of starting reading. Then, when the detection means 12 detects that the original to read arrives at the position before the position of starting reading, the feeding of the original by the feeding means 11 is stopped and the feeding means is started again after that to furthermore feed the original to the reading starting position to start reading. |
