PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable a flexible board to be inserted into a connector by low inserting force without any interference with operation of a lock lever at the time of insertion of the flexible board, and enable the flexible board to be held even if fault occurs in the lock lever or its engaging portion after disposition of the flexible board. SOLUTION: Each of numerous contacts 4 fixed to a housing 2 is provided with a contact portion 14 and a pressure receiving piece 12 which project toward an insertion opening 7 and are formed integrally with each other. The contact portion 14 is associated with turning of the pressure receiving piece 12 by turning a lock lever 3, so that a predetermined clearance is formed on the insertion opening 7, into which a flexible board 6 is inserted. Consequently, it is possible to insert the flexible board 6 by low inserting force. The contact portions 14 of the several contacts is constituted such as not to be moved by turning of the lock lever 3, thereby temporarily holding the flexible board 6. After the lock lever 3 is returned to an initial position, all the contacts 4 are brought into elastic contact with the flexible board 6 by its own elasticity, thus maintaining excellent connection even if the lock lever 3 is broken out. |
