DECIDING METHOD FOR NUMBER OF PAPER SHEETS, PAPER SHEET HANDLING DEVICE AND AUTOMATED CASH TRANSACTION DEVICE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a paper sheet handling device and an automatic teller machine which can discriminate again the paper money that cannot be distinguished and are rejected and also can decide the types and number of sheets of all the sheets of paper money contained in the teller machine. SOLUTION: A paper sheet handling device 201 includes a state detection means 211 on a paper sheet carrier path 210 to detect the carrying states of paper sheets whose types and number cannot be distinguished, together with a correction means 209 which corrects the attitudes of paper sheets based on the information on the means 211. Then the distinguishing parts 203 and 207 detect the carrying states of paper sheets which cannot be distinguished and are rejected and distinguished them again to decide the types and number of them, after separating each of them from one other and correcting their attitudes, as necessary. Thus, it is possible to obtain the device 201 and an automated cash transmission machine which can always grasp the types and number of paper sheets that are contained in the machine.
