<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To allow the system to adopt 1-byte of a minimum exchange unit for an ATM cell by exchanging a payload part of an ATM cell divided into specific bits. SOLUTION: An ATM exchange 1 including an information exchange system for a payload part of an ATM cell is provided with an ATM switch 2 of, e.g. an output buffer type, a position switch 3 exchanging a cell information part divided in the unit of 8×N bits, an input port 4, an output port 5, and a switch control section 6 controlling the ATM switch 2 and the position switch 3 by signaling. Then the exchange of a payload part of an ATM cell is conducted by means of a copy function of the ATM cell and position conversion of the information of the payload part, and the position conversion of the information of the payload part is conducted in the ATM cell and between ATM cells through the exchange of the position switch 3, and the position switch 3 selects the divided information in the payload part by a signaling signal.</p> |
