CODEC DEVICE AND CODEC SYSTEM

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide the coder-decoder (CODEC) in which number of input and output pins is reduced. SOLUTION: A coding means 4 codes digital data. A decoding means 5 decoded coded data. A digital/decoding data input/output means 200 controls input of digital data and output of decoded data. A coded data input/output means 300 controls input and output of coded data. An internal register means 7 controls the coding means 4 or the decoding means 5 through an internal bus 10. A register access means 8 in the inside of the coder uses the digital/decoding data input/output means 200 to access an internal register means 7. A decoder side internal register access means 9 uses the coding data input output means 300 to access the internal register means 7. An arbitration means 6 conducts arbitration on the occurrence of access contention.
