PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To manufacture a low-cost carbon monoxide sensor having excellent reliability and durability in the structure of the sensor for sensing the concentration of the carbon monoxide in the exhaust gas of a combustion apparatus. SOLUTION: The electrodes mounted on both side surfaces of a solid electrolyte are covered with a fiber layer 9 carrying oxidizing catalyst to combustible gas and a fiber layer 10 carrying oxidizing catalyst to combustible gas except carbon monoxide. Since the layers are filled and contained in gas selecting transmission film 14 as buffer, they are used also as the holding material of solid electrolyte 11 and a sufficient amount of gas is supplied to the electrodes via the layers. Further, the low-cost carbon monoxide sensor having excellent reliability and durability can be realized by the removing effect of contaminant having large molecular weight by the film 14 and of electrode deterioration acceleration gas by the catalysts in the layers. |
