PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide automatic gain control by adding a comparatively simple means to the compressor. SOLUTION: An automatic gain control circuit 104 controls a scale factor being a reproduction magnification of each sub-band calculated by a scaling circuit to generate a new scale factor, a bit stream generating circuit 106 edits a header, quantization bit assignment information, a new scale factor and a quantized sample into a bit stream form. Thus, the audio signal compression processing including automatic gain control processing is realized. |
