SPEECH SYNTHESIZING DEVICE NORMALIZING PERIOD OF SPEECH PITCH

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To normalize the period of speech pitch to a desired period of speech pitch. SOLUTION: The speech synthesizing device which normalizes the period of the speech pitch of input speech waveform is provided with a speech pitch normalizing section 3 which extracts the periods of the speech pitches from the input speech waveforms and forms the normalized speech wave forms by changing the number of the samples sampled at one period of the extracted speech pitches to the number of the samples sampled in one period of the speech pitches to be normalized. The amplitude of the normalized speech waveforms is specified as the amplitude of the input speech waveforms at the division points dividing the one period of the extracted speech pitches by the number of the changed samples.
