PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize a driving system for, an SR motor which has a simple circuit configuration and has a short switching cycle. SOLUTION: Semiconductor switching devices 1-3 connected to the plus side of a DC power supply 11 and semiconductor switching devices 7-9 connected to the minus side of the DC power supply 11 are serially connected through armature coils 4-6 to build up a plurality of first main circuits. The semiconductor switching devices 1-3, 7-9 connected to the armature coils 4-6 are simultaneously on/off-controlled in the preliminarily determined order to switch the supply of current to the armature coils 4-6 successively. When the semiconductor switching devices 1-3, 7-9 become an off-state all at the same time, induction energy generated in the armature coils 4-6 is extracted from intermediate taps provided in the armature coils 4-6 and is regenerated to the DC power supply 11. By this method, a switching cycle of the semiconductor switching devices 1-3, 7-9 can be shortened. |
