PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To quickly and surely locate a faulty point by detecting an idle cell interrupt signal from a specific subscriber equipment so as to detect idle cell interruption from all designated subscriber equipments. SOLUTION: A burst interrupt detection section 122 receives an idle cell from an idle cell extract section 121 and a 2nd reception instruction signal Sd from a cell transmission reception control section 15 to provide an output of a burst signal interrupt detection signal. A transmission line fault monitor section 123 receives the burst signal interrupt detection signal Sf and a 3rd reception instruction signal Se and locates a transmission line where a fault is caused and provides an output of an alarm. In this case, the transmission line fault monitor section 123 detects a burst signal interruption from a specific subscriber equipment 5K to detect a fault in a transmission lien 4K between a branching coupler 3 and the specific subscriber equipment 5K and detects burst signal interruption from designated all subscriber equipments 5K, 5K+1 ,... to discriminate a fault of a transmission line 2 between an intra-station equipment 1 and the branching coupler 3. |
