PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the utilization factor of nickel hydroxide grains, and realize the high capacity density of a positive electrode by forming a positive electrode of the active material, which is obtained by leading conductive material in the nickel hydroxide grains. SOLUTION: Nickel hydroxide powder is treated in the cobalt salt solution, which includes cobalt at 0.1mol/dm<3> , so as to lead the cobalt into the nickel grains. This nickel hydroxide is washed by water, and dehydrated so as to adjust the paste, and this paste is filled in a porous metal board. With this structure, a nickel positive electrode for an alkaline storage battery, which has the excellent utilization factor of active material, is obtained. |
