<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a toner which can be fixed at low fixing temp. and has excellent fixing strength to a transfer paper by incorporating a vinyl copolymer prepared by polymn. in the presence of a Fischer-Tropsch wax into a binder resin. SOLUTION: This electrophotographic toner essentially consists of a coloring agent, a binder resin which contains a vinyl copolymer prepared by polymn. in the presence of a natural gas-based and/or coal-based Fischer-Tropsch wax, and if necessary, an additive such as a charge controlling agent. As for the Fischer-Tropsch wax used for the electrophotographic toner, a material produced by Fischer-Tropsch synthesis from natural gas as the source material can be used, and for example, a wax-like hydrocarbon synthesized by hydrogenation of carbon monoxide with a catalyst is used. The polymerizable monomers which constitute the binder resin are styrene, o-methylstyrene, m-methylstyrene, 4- methylstyrene, etc.</p> |
