PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent starting performance from being lowered by charge with a capacity distributed between a fluorescent lamp and a luminaire mainbody and between a winding in a ballast mounted on the mainbody and a core. SOLUTION: A discharge lamp lighting device consists of a fluorescent lamp 4 with a filament, a ballast of a copper iron type and a starter 5 provided with a preheating means for the filament and a kick pulse voltage generating means for starting. By specifying the direction of connecting the ballast 2, starting performance is improved. The terminal on the windup side out of the terminals of the ballast is connected to the filament out of both filaments, to which relatively negative potential is applied for kick pulse voltage applied between both filament for starting. |
