PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electric connector in which strength of an insulative housing in an engaging portion can be increased in the electric connector of a receptacle type engageable with another electric connector of a plug type. SOLUTION: An electric connector 1 of a receptacle type comprises an insulative housing 2 molded into an elongated shape, a plurality of terminals 3 in which contacts 3a are aligned at predetermined pitches in an engaging portion 5, and a metallic shield 4. Side walls 15 of the insulative housing 2 having the engaging portion 5 formed thereon are reinforced inward and outward by covering the inner wall with a cylindrical portion 11 of the metallic shield 4 and the outer wall with a suspending piece 4c. |
