The deformable elastic seal comprises a body (4) which has a generally rectangular cross-section. The front face (6) of the body includes a central bar (7) which projects from the surface, and has a width which is less than that of the rear face of the body (5). The body has a longitudinal plane of symmetry (P-P') which bisects a central tubular cavity (8). The body of the seal also includes two lateral tubular cavities (9-1,9-2) situated on either side of the central cavity and forming mirror images of each other. The seal is used in conjunction with an electrically operated closure mechanism.
