PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a nickel electrode at a high utilization factor of active material and at a high capacity density by adding Co(OH)2 powder, which is obtained by dissolving Zn in the crystal at a specified quantity in relation to cobalt, in the active material mainly composed of Ni(OH)2 in a non-sintered nickel electrode. SOLUTION: In a non-sintered nickel electrode for alkaline storage battery, which is formed by filling an alkali-resistant board with the mixture powder of Ni(OH)2 powder and Co(OH)2 , the Co(OH)2 powder is obtained by dissolving Zn in a crystal at 1-7 mole % in relation to the metal Co. Capacity of the alkaline storage battery can be thereby improved. |
