<p>A canister-type magazine (2) for the class of fastener driving tool which uses a coil of tandemly arranged fasteners. The magazine comprises a substantially cylindrical body having a top (19), a bottom (20) and a side wall (21, 22), and is made up of a fixed body part (2A) and a movable body part (2B). The fixed body part (2A) has a forward end attached to the tool fastener feed mechanism (9) and a rearward end attached to the tool handle (4). The fixed body part (2A) comprises the top (19) and a segment (21) of the side wall of the magazine (2). The movable body part (2B) has forward and rearward ends and comprises the bottom (20), the fastener coil support surface, and the remainder (22) of the side wall of the magazine. The movable body part (2B) is pivotally affixed at its rearward end to a hinge member. The hinge member, in turn, is adjustably mounted in a hinge member support constituting a portion of the rearward end of the fixed body part. The hinge member is axially shiftable with respect to the hinge member support enabling adjustment of the distance between the canister top (19) and bottom (20) for accommodation of fasteners of different lengths. The movable body part (2B) is swingable about its pivotal connection to the hinge member between a closed position and an open position to which it is spring biased and in which the fastener coil support surface is fully accessible.</p> |
