The system comprises three or more bushes (2) on the end plate (1) slide over the dowels and are not in a straight line. Looped reinforcing bars (4) at right angles to the plate secure it to the reinforcing meshwork (6,6'). The bars can form open stirrups, and there can be four or more of them, so that two engage with the upper meshwork and two with the lower one. There can be three bushes in two planes, or five in three, and their dimensions can be such as to allow sideways movement of the dowels.
