Disclosed is a two-stage locking apparatus in a cover of glove box for a car. The locking apparatus comprises a cover(20), an axis rod(40) and an actuating lever(50). The cover(20) having an inlet(22) is hinge-coupled for opening and closing. The axis rod(40) is installed to the inlet(22) by a pin. A pushing piece(42) is extruded on the upper portion of the axis rod(40) to be pressed by the grip(30), A fixing portion(48) having a protrusion(46) is formed at the lower portion of the axis rod(40), A fixing slot(52) for catching the protrusion(46) is formed at the lower portion of the actuating lever(50). Thereby, the noise is buffered and reduced when the car is driven.
