Automatic transmission with electrohydraulic and electronic controls

Electrohydraulic and electronic control units (2,6) are arranged adjacently in common within or on the transmission housing (1). The electronic unit consists of a circuit board (13) latched or plugged into the housing (4) carrying the electronic switches. The electrohydraulic unit is enclosed by the control housing and closed by a lid (12) via fasteners (8) so as to support the electronic unit. The walls (16) or lid of the housing contain cooling channels (11,17) and a cooling plate (9) within housing carries cooling channels (10) and forms part one of the units. Channels are connected to a fluid cooling device, possibly linked to the return of the transmission or engine oil cooler. The housing or lid have external cooling ribs (14,15), using water as coolant with anti-freeze agent. Additional components include the lines and valves (5,3) serving as electrohydraulic unit.
