Joint cup for prosthesis

The prosthetic joint cup has an external shell (11) into which an exchangeable inner insert shell (12) can be placed. The external shell has at least one slot (40) which runs from the open edge to the centre of the shell. When the slot is squeezed, the clamping of the insert shell is released and the insert can be removed. The joint cup can have several radial slots which at their edges have a cut-away section (44,45) into which a spreader tool can be inserted in order to act on the slot.
