Method of repairing bell in insulator string for overhead power lines
摘要
The bell part (4) of the insulator elements making up an insulator string is repaired by cutting away the skirt of the faulty insulator and replacing it with another one. A metal mould with an internal cavity is placed over the core of the insulator where the skirt has been removed, and a non-hardened rubber is introduced into the cavity between the mould and the insulator core. Pressure and heat are then applied to the rubber material inside the mould, pressing it hard onto the insulator core. An adhesive material may be used to aid joining.
