An electric switch, particularly for controlling a motor vehicle lighting and signalling means, comprises a housing (10) which receives the switching means (200) and a lever (100) comprising control means (120, 140, 160) moveably mounted with respect to the housing (10) so as to be rotatable in at least two generally mutually transversal directions (I, II) and to be further rotatable (III) about the lever axis (162) to control respectively at least three basic electric functions. The switch is characterised in that the switching means (200) comprise a single slide (220) mounted so as to be moveable within a plane and means (166, 122; 124, 224) operatively linking the control means (120, 140, 160) of the lever (100) and the slide (220) such that the slide (220) is subjected to a specific displacement for each of the three displacements of the lever (100) in order to control a respective electric function without affecting the control of the other two potential functions.
