The invention concerns means for obtaining a time curve of accelerations below the threshold values for passengers in any frontal, lateral, and/or rear impact in EU and US crash tests, said means comprising: a) pairs of piston devices operating independently of each other for the purpose of independent deformation of their deformation elements, b) a guided piston rod with a spacesaving construction, c) deformation elements (1 to 3) with controllable deformation behavior during the process of bending bulging to determine the steps for releasing the impact energy in the sense of material utilisation, d) large surface deformation elements which are affixing on the floor assembly between the A columns and rear pushrod (36), and e) form and/or non-positive connection of the deformation elements with the vehicle components to avoid buckling and of the deformation elements with one another to augment the number of energy absorbing masses with direct deviation of the residual impact energy. As a trunk floor, the rear deformation element (3) is removable from the trunk for access to the spare wheel, document box or things in storage compartments. The projection of the lateral deformation element (2) can be used as the running board and/or lateral pushrod.
