Machine for splitting, cutting or sawing large stone blocks

The machine comprises a frame which incorporates a bench (5) holding the block of stone to be worked. The splitter, cutter or saw (3,4) is positioned in the middle of the bench and across it. The work bench is longer and wider than the maximum dimension of the stone block. Part (6) of the work bench extending from the splitter, cutter or saw is swivel mounted on a horizontal swivel axle (7) and moved by at least one hydraulically operated swivel drive mechanism (10). The support surface of the bench is formed by pivot mounted balls or rollers (21). The frame has a gantry consisting of vertical uprights (24) on both sides of the bench, and a horizontal cross-bar (25) joining the uprights.
