A process is claimed for calibrating the sensor system of a household dishwasher, washing machine etc., with electronic program control. After manufacture, the appliance is operated in accordance with the parameter(s) in respect of which the sensor system is to be calibrated. The operating takes place in the presence of preset, defined limiting conditions. During the operation, the specific parameter is measured by means of the sensor system and corresponding signals are generated. The signals are processed to produce correction values which are stored in the control electronics.
