Production of plastic strip comprising a coating film (6) applied over a substrate consisting of at least one thermoplastic material, preferably PVC involves: (a), preparing a plastisol paste (3)containing comminuted substrate material and plasticiser; (b) applying the plastisol on a flat support (5) in order to obtain a coating; and (c) gelling the plastisol to obtain a solid plastic coating film. Between stages (b) and (c) there is a powdering stage in which particles of powdered plastic (10) are accelerated around the exterior surface of the layer, and then distributed over it. Powdered plastic contains at least one thermoplastic material which can be integrated or dissolved, at least partially, in the plastisol substrate during stage (c) and which is chemically identical or similar to the base material. Acceleration process is one which allows particles to be incorporated homogeneously in at least one film above and on the sides of the coating layer. Also claimed are: installation for carrying out such process; strip produced; and covering for a floor or a wall. |
