Hot water boiler with gas burner and primary heat exchanger for producing domestic hot water

The boiler has a conventional burner and exhaust gas system, but is surrounded by an insulated hollow metal jacket containing the heated water for domestic use and a secondary heat exchanger for a central heating system. The boiler comprises an atmospheric gas burner (2), primary heat exchanger (3), inlet pipe (9), three-way valve (7), outlet (4) and circulation pump (5). Waste gas products are discharged through flue (15). The hot water storage volume (10) is wrapped round the heater space and contains a secondary heat exchanger (19) which has an outlet pipe (11) leading to the pump and an inlet (8) from the valve (7). Pipes (8,12) lead to and from the heating system.
