A grand piano assembling method, a heel of a grand piano and a method of manufacturing the same, an arm of a grand piano and a method of manufacturing the same, and a keyboard instrument are provided. The grand piano assembling method comprises the step of forming a heel, and the step of mounting a plurality of parts in order on the heel as a base so as to assemble a grand piano. The heel of the grand piano is provided with a left flat plate forming a front left straight side of the grand piano, a right flat plate forming a front right straight side of the grand piano, and a plurality of arcuate members of the same radius by which the rear ends of the left and right flat plates are connected together so as to form a bent side of the grand piano. An arm of the grand piano is provided with an arm portion formed at a front end of the heel and having a predetermined shape in conformity with that of the arm, and an arm plate (1) having a shape in conformity with that of the arm portion of the heel and fixed to the arm portion. A lower keyslip of the grand piano is provided in its rear surface with a dovetail which is perpendicular to the surface, and a shelf plate formed at a lower portion of one heel is provided in the front face thereof with a dovetail groove in which the dovetail of the lower keyslip is inserted. The dovetail groove is provided therein with a metal receiver for holding the dovetail when the dovetail is inserted into the dovetail groove.
