The bumper (4) holders (6,8) are designed to press the bumper outwards under collision etc. force without damaging the adjoining structure (2). Each holder consists of one sector (19) pivotally connected to an axis sector (20) connected to the frame and integrally connected elements (14,16) and supported in turn on the front or the inside of the respective bumper cross sides. In collision or impact, the holders turn and press the cross sides outwards, with the impact force acting on the bumper to apply a rearward force on element (14) so each element (10,12) rotates on axis and the bumper as a whole yields and flexes to keep structure clear.
