Temperature probe for high pressure steam turbine

The temperature probe (1) fits through a bore (20) in the outer housing (13) of the steam turbine, to lie within a steam space (29) between the inner and outer housings (12,13), in which it is enclosed by a protective sleeve (14).This has a spherical seating (15) at its bottom end, fitting into a bore (17) in the inner housing (12) and a spherical seating (16) at its top end fitting into the bore in the outer housing. The protective sleeve can be made of an Austenite steel alloy, the inner and outer housings made of a ferrite steel, with their differing expansion coefficients ensuring a steam-tight fit.
